Treasure Box

You may remember this little canvas from a previous post. Well here it is in it's new "home". Hobby Lobby carries these awesome "Treasure Boxes" that have picture frames in the lids. I love these things!!! I was super excited this time cause they normally retail for $25.99 or there abouts and I found 3 of them on a clearance shelf for $7.50. Most of the time they are a gaudy gold color and scream to be repainted, occasionally you find one that is perfect the way it is. Sadly this one was that gaudy gold color on the lid, so I had to paint it. Talk about depth, took me lots of layers to get this to look this way. Wasn't on purpose, I just kept doing what I thought would look good, then putting the canvas in and hating it, so I'd add something else to change it. Now it looks well worn and warmly antique-ish. I love it!
