When I did this I was just really playing around and was gonna do something more/else to it. However, I really liked how simple it was. I may still do something on the white matting around it, but until I know for sure what I'm going to do I don't want to mess with it. It's not like I've got lots of matting laying around if I screw it up and I'm not too sure how gesso will do on there.

I think it is perfect just like it is Lisa!!! It doesn't need anything on the mat. It would also look perfect in your dining room!
