Handmade Backgrounds

This is a technique that I learned from Traci Bautista's book, Collage Unleashed. It's called Paint Scraping and I absolutly LOVE the way it turns out! I do have to say though that I do mine a little differently than Traci does because I can't control my urge to go over the same place more than once LOL I do mine, 1 color at a time and I squirt my paint onto a pallett of some kind and pick it up w/ the edge of my credit card. It doesn't matter which paints you use or which stamps you use, I've never had one turn out bad. I use the Liquitex full bodied acrylics for this most of the time, but have used Lumieres and regular cheap acrylics as well. Because I'm also addicted to color wash sprays and have several different brands of them, I generally give it a good sparkly spritz as a very last step. Belinda Spiwak has a tutorial on her site for it if you're interested check it out.
