Lance Brittany

This canvas is 12x20, and I'm not sure it's done yet, it just feels like it needs something more, hubby says no. A couple things about this canvas that I really like are the harlequin patterns on the upper half. They were done with a stencil and fiber paste so they're raised and textured. The 2nd thing that I love about this piece is the focal image is actually a photo copy of a skinny that I did earlier. The reason this is named Lance Brittany is because in the text on the book page I used on it that name is listed there, I thought it fitting LOL I may try to lighten this up a bit in spots because all though I love the richness of the bkgrd, (it reminds me of well worn leather,) it feels kind of dark to me.

Mysterious or Curiosity would be more apt fir naming, Lisa...I am intrigued by the two obscure face images buried in the area opposite the focal image....I find the piece Intriguing with a lot of depth. It is rich in color, I think, not dark....and remember, you as the artist, are the only one who knows when it is finished. Let it sit, come back in a few days and you will know.

I love as is Lisa... but you are the artist you need to feel confortable with it... put away for a day and then look at it you will see ...!
To me it's sober and elegant...

I think it is fabulous! … so rich and comforting. I totally understand your “is this done” feeling though, I am the worst about pulling things off the wall to tweak it a bit…lol.

I wondered about the face to the left of the collaged image (or Lance!)Do my eyes deceive me or is that a mask?
Beautiful rich colour... but I agree with Gayle - only you will know when it is finished!

Lisa, I totally agree that this looks like rich, well aged leather -- very British sitting room feel! I'm not familiar with fiber paste? What is it and where do you get it? It adds a wonderful quality!
