This is a little different than the canvases I usually do and the picture of this is just awful!!! However after taking about 30 different ones this is as good as it gets. I used irridescent transparent white over the whole pieces to soften it a bit so now matter how I did it there was glare some where from some light source. You can actually read the sentiments on it in real life. This is done using the collaging techniques from an Ann Baldwin DVD. This was so much harder and more challenging that I ever expected it to be. I'm bothered a bit by the hard lines around the images a bit, but they're hard to cover. Something I'll have to work on I guess. However, I'm not even sure it's something that I liked LOL But I'm certainly not going to make that decision based on 1 canvas, I'll probably try it again, tweaking how I did a few things. There is ALOT of depth and texture to this 12x12 canvas.

This is so gorgeous. The way you placed the colours is so visually appealing. May I suggest something to help you cope with those lines? Image transfer. I'm sure you know how to do it, but just in case you don't, I'll briefly recap. Using Golden gel medium, apply five to seven thin coats over a photocopied image. Let dry overnight, and wet finger and rub off all the paper. I hope you don't think I overstepped my welcome by suggesting this; just wanted to help you out with your voiced concerns.
Another way of softening the lines, or making them 'disappear', is to carefully tear around the images, instead of cutting - the paper will be thinner at the edges. I took an Ann Baldwin class last year, and found that the depth you get in the piece makes painting 20 or so layers of fluid acrylic worthwile (even if it seems a pain while you're doing it LOL).
This canvas is really fabulous. Wonderfull color composition. Love the softness.
