Orange & Aqua

I love everything about this piece, the colors, the image, the textures, the shapes, everything!!! This was probably to date, the most fun I've had doing a canvas. It's done on a 16x20 gallery wrapped canvas. It's just so cheerful to me. The little saying by the boys says Every Circus Needs a Clown. I did something kinda neat with this transfer, I painted part of the backside of it before I adhered it to the canvas. Most of the time I do my transfers directly to my canvas, however, I knew if I did that I'd end up w/ orange faces on the boys and didn't want that. (I was originally going to do the onto polka dot paper and didn't want them to have polka dot faces either). So I did my transfer the old fashioned way, all by itself, then painted the faces w/ a flesh toned paint before I put them on the canvas. Worked like a charm and since I was painting the backside I didn't have to be too meticulous other than staying inside the lines of their faces. It's hard to tell cause the glare I got off the transfer when taking the pic, but their faces are flesh toned and not orange.
