The Queens Surprise!

Earlier this week I said to my husband "you have to get up pretty early in the morning to get anything past me". Oh boy early he did, as did my sister and many of my friends and family!!! About a whole MONTH early to be exact! Many of you may know that this is the 40th year of my life and I'm not exactly thrilled to see that number roll around. This wknd was the annual friend/family picnic/camp out at a friends house that we have every year. So I made my veggie tray and packed up the cooler full of yummy drinks and off we went. Well, low and behold, it turned out to be the most fabulously ROYAL surprise bday party for me! I was blown away! Totally clueless because when you're birthday isn't untill August 22nd, why on earth would you expect a bday party on July 26th?

The very best part is that it wasn't your typical "over the hill" 40th bday cause, as I stated earlier, I'm having issues w/ it. It was a QUEEN themed party, how fabulous is that!!! I got lots of wonderful "royal" gifts, including a throne made from a commode LOL (I have a cousin with a twisted sense of humor).

In this picture you see me standing w/ one of my gifts. This would be my new scepter, it was made by my fabulous SIL who does great assemblages. Also in this picture you can see another one of my "gifts". The gorgeous young blonde sitting at the table behind me is one of my dearest friends, who lives in OHIO of all places!! She flew here (Wisconsin), just for this party, of all my gifts I think that one was my favorite!!!

I know some of you, or at least I was told they sent to everyone in my email address book, may have known about this and I applaud you all for keeping quiet and sorry you couldn't have been there, you missed a fabulous time!!!
